If you're seeking naturally fuller lashes and brows without prostaglandins or irritation, Capixyl™ (a patented complex of Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 + Red Clover Extract) is now the industry’s go-to active. With a dual applicator and powered with 5% Capixyl, the REGENSIFY Eyelash and Eyebrow serum do stand out as a strong contender against various lash & brow serum brands.
We'll do some quick, simple comparison of the REGENSIFY Eyelash and Eyebrow serum with these four brands:
Like REGENSIFY, the Farmasi Eyebrow and Lash serum stands out as only one out of the four brands listed here to have a dual applicator (a tip and a comb).
Aqua (Water), Butylene Glycol, Dextran, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine
However, if you look at the ingredient list, the formulation is a very basic lash serum. The Capixyl strength is likely not 5% (likely to be 2.5% Capixyl) as the directions for use is two applications a day. Other than Capixyl, it does not have any other additional actives such as Redensyl, Adenosine or peptides like Myristoyl Tetrapeptide and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide that can further stimulate the lash and brow growth. The Farmasi Eyebrow and Lash serum also does not have Hylauronic acid and Panthenol, which are critical ingredients for moisturising the lashes and brows. While the volume in terms of ml is high at 12 ml, the strength may not be strong enough to give you the results wanted. Guess what you pay is what you get.
No doubt, this lash and brow serum is going to be the hot favourite of many Ordinary fans. The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow does have a wide variety of good lash ingredients from Capixyl, Redensyl to peptides.
However, do note that the Capixyl strength is likely not 5% (likely to be 2.5% Capixyl) as the directions for use is two applications a day. Hence, our 4 ml REGENSIFY Eyelash and Eyebrow serum should be comparable to a 8 ml equivalent of The Ordinary Multi Pept ide Lash and Brow serum .The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow serum has Redensyl and Caffeine whereas the REGENSIFY Eyelash and Eyebrow serum prefers to have a Redensyl and Adenosine combo instead. In our opinion, Adenosine is a much stronger ingredient than Caffeine for lash & hair regrowth. In addition, the Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow serum does not have a dual applicator so you are stuck with the same applicator for your lash and brow, which can raise hygiene and performance concerns. In the previous blog titled Lash & Brow Serum Success starts with the right applicator, we have explained why a one applicator for all is potentially unhygienic.
We are not here to stop Ordinary fans from supporting Ordinary. Nevertheless, should Ordinary fans someday get tired of the boring white packaging, we welcome Ordinary fans to take a look at REGENSIFY and give REGENSIFY a try.
The Actsyl-L Lash Growth Express and the Actsyl-V Eyebrow Growth are one of the few lash and brow serums with 5% Capixyl and application is once a day. The formulation for the Actsyl-L Lash Growth Express will be even better if it added extra stimulating actives like Redensyl, Adenosine or Caffeine. Also, Urtica Dioica Root Extract (also known as Nettle Root) is a redundant ingredient that is not well established in lash and brow growth application. The downside is that their lash and brow serums are separate so you have to spend more to buy two different products.
Like the Actsyl brand, the iRestore Lash and Brow serums are separate so you have to spend more to buy two different products.
While the 5% Capixyl + 5% Redensyl are impressive specs, the iRestore Lash and Brow serums contain ingredients such as Saw Palmetto Extract, Stinging Nettle Root Extract and Panax Ginseng Root Extract, which are quite redundant in lash and brow applications.
Feature | Scalp Hair | Eyelash Hair |
---|---|---|
Hormone sensitivity | Strong (DHT-driven hair loss) | Minimal DHT influence |
Growth phase | Long (2–7 years) | Short (~30–45 days) |
Follicle density | Sparse | Low and fixed |
Primary growth need | Reduce DHT + stimulate anagen | Stimulate anagen + strengthen |
DHT blockers like saw palmetto or stinging nettle are overkill or misplaced in lash serums, because:
Lash follicles aren’t hormonally sensitive to DHT like scalp hair
Blocking DHT has little to no proven benefit on eyelash regrowth
Overuse may cause local irritation without upside
❌ Saw Palmetto
Works by inhibiting 5α-reductase (DHT synthesis enzyme)
Effective for male pattern hair loss or PCOS-related hair thinning
No proven mechanism for eyelash follicle stimulation
❌ Stinging Nettle Root
Mild anti-inflammatory and DHT modulator
Often paired with saw palmetto for prostate or scalp therapies
Irrelevant to non-androgenic hair like lashes
⚠️ Ginseng (Panax)
Possibly helpful for improving microcirculation
Contains ginsenosides that may affect keratinocyte activity
Still, evidence is limited in lash-specific applications
May add antioxidant or energizing benefit, but it’s secondary to peptides and growth factors
These ingredients (Saw Palmetto Extract, Stinging Nettle Root Extract and Panax Ginseng Root Extract) are primarily known for their anti-DHT (dihydrotestosterone) effects, which makes sense in scalp hair loss, particularly androgenic alopecia — but they’re largely unnecessary (or even irrelevant) in lash growth. It also means that you are overpaying for ingredients which aren't necessary needed.
We hope these simple comparisons give you some good ideas and pointers in choosing the right lash / brow serums. Here are some videos of REGENSIFY Eyelash and Eyebrow serum.

While Minoxidil is widely used as a hair growth stimulant (especially in androgenetic alopecia), several clinical observations and case reports have noted the appearance or acceleration of grey or white hairs in patients using topical minoxidil. Some patients using 5% Topical Minoxidil have reported new hairs growing in as white or grey, even in areas where hair previously had pigment. There are anecdotal and observational reports suggesting this is more common with higher concentrations or long-term use. Published in 2024, a study done in Saudi Arabia suggests the answer is a Yes.
